Jason Strand, M.D.
I was born and raised in Wyoming. I fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a physician in 2006. I have been practicing in Wyoming ever since. I am board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. Medicine is truly my calling. I feel so blessed and privileged to be a physician. This relatively new practice model of DPC (direct primary care) is going to allow me to practice medicine the way I have always envisioned. I value my relationship with my patients. You are my family. I chose family medicine because of the magic that can exist in that space. Traditional practice incentivizes efficiency at the expense of quality and at the expense of developing relationships. Read more.

Like my brother, I too was born and raised in Wyoming. After high school I went to Duluth, MN where I played soccer and earned a degree in exercise physiology and athletic training. Right out of school I went to work for a physical therapy clinic in Casper and was given the opportunity to get into the pharmaceutical industry as a product representative. During that time I longed for the connection with the patients I once had and also realized the need for more medical providers in our state. I decided to go back to school at the age of 30 and become a certified physician assistant. By the grace of God I was accepted to the Class of 2012 at Eastern Virginia Medical School. I realized early on in my medical education that I wanted to do family medicine and focused my rotations on this field. I knew when I graduated and passed my exam I would come back Casper.
